The PlayStation®4 system opens the door to an incredible journey through immersive new gaming worlds and a deeply connected gaming community. PS4™ puts gamers first with an astounding launch lineup and over 180 games in development. Play amazing top-tier blockbusters and innovative indie hits on PS4™. Developer Inspired, Gamer Focus
The PlayStation 4 is the most powerful games console on the planet. With more graphical power than the Xbox One, 32 times more system memory than the PS3 and a firm focus on pure gaming experiences rather than media mojo, it has established itself as the next-gen console to beat.

It's a games console built by gamers for gamers. It won the hearts and minds of many from the word go, with lots of prospective next-genners left feeling alienated by some of Microsoft's bizarre policies and choices for the Xbox One – many of which were reversed as a result of a backlash.

Coming in at £350, the PS4 is also £80 cheaper than the Xbox One, making it appear terrific value. It doesn't come with the PlayStation Camera (the One does come with Kinect) but this can be bought separately for £45 if you so wish.

The differences between the PS4 and Xbox One are actually evident before you even switch them on. Despite the two consoles both sporting similar half-matte half-gloss finishes and containing very similar internal components, they really couldn't be more different.

For a start, the PS4 is small and sleek in comparison to the enormous VCR-like square cuboid of the Xbox One. And this means that the PS4's box is half the size and weight of the Xbox One. The Sony console can be extracted from its packaging and plugged in and booted up in a couple of minutes.

Design

One look at the PS4 and you know you're seeing Sony hardware. It's slim, sleek and jet black, roughly the size of a second generation PS3 Slim. The full measurements are 275 x 53 x 305 mm. It's a lot more compact than an Xbox One, which is longer, taller and squarer.

PS4 specifications
Inside, the PS4 is all business. It has a custom single-chip processor that combines an eight core x86-64 AMD "Jaguar" CPU with a 1.84 teraflop GPU based on AMD's Radeon tech. That's backed by 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, and a 500GB mechanical hard drive.
Sony claims that the PS4's overall performance is ten times that of the PS3. You can also remove that 500GB drive and replace it with a larger drive, or an SSD for better performance. Sony says these do it yourself upgrades will not void the system's warranty.

Those two USB ports are the PS4's only front facing connections. In the rear you'll find HDMI, Ethernet, a digital optical audio out and a proprietary auxiliary connection for the PlayStation Camera.

For wireless connections, the PS4 uses 802.11 b/g/n for WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 for its wireless DualShock 4 controllers.
Features

The PlayStation 4 is a living room computer, more so than the PS3 ever was. Not just because of its specs and AMD-based architecture, but because of its robust feature set.

It's capable of bringing games and movies quickly into your home, as well as connecting you to your friends and other online gamers through the PlayStation Network as well as Twitter and Facebook to share brag-worthy gaming moments.

What's in the box?

You're bringing home more than a just a stylish asymmetrical black console. In addition to the actual system you get a power cord (not a big power brick), an HDMI cable, an earbud microphone combo, one DualShock 4 controller and its charging cable (we charged our DualShock 4 pad using the Xbox One and the world did not end).

Extra controllers don't come with another charging cable, so don't lose that one. Also, note that we said earbud singular, not earbuds, as in just for one ear. It's cheap but serviceable, but you can actually plug any old headset or pair of buds you already own into the controller's headphone jack, so it's not much of an issue.
iTECH Gizmo | Gadget News, Trends And Reviews
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7385537794892829171.post-26818324259900920572013-10-04T22:20:00.001-07:002013-10-04T22:20:42.796-07:00What People Do On Cell Phones To Pass Their Time?
I mean, it is right up there with the slew of fingerprint scanner programs currently in the App Store. That being said, it still needs some work, but we will get to that later.

This app is extremely entertaining, especially when the results are really good or extremely bad. At school I take pictures of my friends without telling them what it is for, then when it finishes analyzing their faces I show them the hilarious results like my personal favorite,You're so ugly, you couldn't get a date off a calendar.

App Store Description: The Ugly Meter takes your photo and scans the details of your face to give you a rating of 1-10 on the Ugly Scale. If you rate a 10, you probably have a face that only a mother could love. Depending on how bad your rating is, the Ugly Meter will comment on your looks!
The next-generation of Apple Inc.'s popular iPhone smartphone may debut this June, a tech site reported.

Mashable said a recruiter at Taiwan-based Foxconn told TV Tokyo's "World Business Satellite" they need 18,000 employees to make the next iPhone.

"We’re looking for 18,000 employees … for the fifth-generation phone," Mashable quoted the recruiter as saying in the interview.

It added that when the TV Tokyo reporter clarified that the recruiter was talking about the iPhone 5, they said the next-generation iPhone will come out in June.

On the other hand, it remains unclear if the next iPhone would be called the iPhone 5.

Should the next iPhone be released this June, it would actually be the sixth since the first iPhone was released in 2007.

After the original iPhone, Apple released the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPhone 4S.

However, Mashable noted the June rumor "should be taken with a grain of salt" as rumors of the iPhone 5 started almost immediately after the announcement of the iPhone 4S last year.

"Current rumors have the device’s launch pinned between June and October, with many speculating that the next generation will be LTE-capable to run on carrier’s new speedy data networks,"
iTECH Gizmo | Gadget News, Trends And Reviews
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7385537794892829171.post-51530850662082547872012-04-22T08:37:00.002-07:002012-04-22T08:38:56.204-07:00Apple Vs Samsung "Who’s going to win the Battle?"

The intellectual property battle rages on between Apple and Samsung. In April 2011, Apple filed for patent infringement, claiming that Samsung copied its iPhone and iPad designs. Courts all over the world have taken on this battle. Europe and Australia, for instance, have ordered preliminary injunctions barring Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 from shelves — just in time for the holiday season.

These days Apple and Samsung are, surely, going a lot in court facing each other as rivals. Obviously, that’s nothing of a grand surprise for the fans; as such tech-stirs keep coming out way often. Anyone of you remembered the previous battleground between the two giants of mobile phone industry? Well, that was back in Germany, Apple was trying to sell out the iPhone and Samsung tried its best to stop it from doing just that! Who lost that battle? The answer to this question is no longer a myth for a child, even! Samsung has to come home with sorrow while Apple definitely sang the glee songs. Later on, Apply returned the resistance from Samsung in a more vigorous manner by breaking out the latest method of unlock by sliding (that Apple won via a 2011 patent).

The “unlock by sliding” feature has been debuted by Apple in iPhone (original version) – however, that was way back in 2007. Now, in contrast to this story, Apple-Insider says that in Germany, Apply had secured one utility model for “unlock by sliding” feature a lot earlier in 2006. That was in accordance with the FOSS patent.

Who’s going to win the Battle?
I still amuse over the plethora of discussions this issue has attracted. As unfortunate as it may sound, Apple found itself in troubled waters – because the registration process for any utility model never requires the equivalent amount of examining that applying for any traditional patent needs. Moreover, the utility model may also not serve well as evidence in courtroom and German law may issue a ruling, a stay or perhaps a decision by 16th March, 2012 (this again is in accordance with the FOSS patent).

It is worth noticing that the time when Apple was launching the “unlock by sliding” feature patent, that feature got released in Sweden (Neonode Nlm) even, before Apply could do it. As noticed by FOSS patent, the overall availability standards carry much more significance when utility models are involved (as compared to patent suits).
The result of this battle is, certainly, going to be a fascinating thing but we all have to wait for that and chew our nails in anticipation. Now, I certainly desire Apple to win the case as this would not only strengthen the patent but would also stop the competitors from being copycats!
iTECH Gizmo | Gadget News, Trends And Reviews
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7385537794892829171.post-48740494603101659812012-04-21T01:10:00.002-07:002012-04-21T01:14:22.126-07:00Viber – iPhone App FREE call anyone in any part of the world!

Let me explain you guys in simple terms on its working:
Instead of using your iPhone’s phone app, you use Viber. When you make a call out of Viber, it checks to see if that phone number is registered with another Viber user. If it is, Viber handles the call over VOIP. If it’s not, Viber automatically routes the call through your iPhone’s phone app. This way you get free calls to other Viber users and other calls will work just the same as always.

How to get started with it?
Setting up Viber couldn’t get this simpler. You just enter your Phone number, the Viber service sends you a text message with a code, and you enter that code into the Viber app. That’s it! You are all done. No registration, no logging in or logging out, it really that cool.

How will I know if my contact has Viber installed on their phone?
Anyone that has the Viber app installed has the little Viber icon present next to their name in the Contacts section.

How can I ask my contacts to install the app?

The app lets you send them a quick message asking them to install the iPhone app if they are not having one on their phone.

A quick run through the features :
Free Local & International Calls
No registration, login required to make calls
Call and Receive calls for free
Missed Call notification
Integrates with phone book for ease.
The Toshiba Excite tablets brand name will now be significantly larger thanks to the upcoming release of three new tablets. Keep in mind that all three of the tablets (mentioned below) should not be confused with the Toshiba Excite 10 LE, which is in fact a completely different tablet.

The three new Toshiba tablets are of varying sizes and include the Toshiba Excite 10, Toshiba Excite 7.7 and the much larger sized Toshiba Excite 13. All three tablets are basically the size of their respective model numbers, and will all include the same basic specs and features.

The Toshiba Excite tablets will be running the latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0). All three tablets will also include Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quad-core processor with 1GB of installed RAM, Corning Gorilla Glass screen protectors, integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios, and a 5MP rear facing camera combined with a 2MP front facing camera.
The game will be the first major title in the GTA series since the release of GTA 4 in 2008. GTA 5 will mark the fifth “era” in the series, which is to be set in fictional Los Santos in the state of San Andreas and its surrounding areas, mostly based on the modern-day Los Angeles and Southern California.

Rockstar Games had previously published Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in 2004, which features Los Santos as one of the three cities in the game. Several speculations around the web indicated that the Grand Theft Auto 5 was to be released by the end of 2011, however, that did not happen. On October 25, 2011, Rockstar Games announced Grand Theft Auto 5 via a tweet, which included the #GTAV hash tag and a link to their homepage, which displayed the game’s logo. On October 26, the company put a GTA V trailer countdown on their homepage, which led the shares of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games shoot up by seven percent.

On November 2, 2011, Rockstar released the debut trailer for GTA 5, giving its fans a first glance of the upcoming and most-anticipated game. The trailer revealed interesting features, like the setting to be in Los Santos, “Vinewood” (Hollywood) and rural hills and valleys.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick states the following:

“Looking ahead, Take-Two has the strongest development pipeline in the company’s history. At the cornerstone of our stellar line-up is the recently announced next installment of Rockstar Games’ iconic franchise that has sold-in more than 114 million units – Grand Theft Auto V. The creative team at Rockstar Games continues to set benchmarks for excellence with every new release and we’re confident that consumers’ enthusiasm will be rewarded with a breathtaking entertainment experience that can only be provided by Grand Theft Auto.”
According to analyst Jesse Divnich, predicts that GTA V would be one of the top five games released in 2012, and it would be one of the biggest releases, coming out ahead of other big releases such as the next Call of Duty series.
iTECH Gizmo | Gadget News, Trends And Reviews
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7385537794892829171.post-14505752919639056272012-04-13T08:43:00.000-07:002012-04-13T08:43:03.220-07:00Apple Iphone 5 Review

We are anticipating and desperately waiting for the announcement of the Apple iPhone 5 release date, which is now expected to happen in Summer 2012. Many fans and current Apple iPhone consumers are wondering what groundbreaking features Apple will add to the new iPhone 5.

The most recent rumors indicate that the iPhone 5 will have a 4+ inch display, possibly made by Korean giant LG. However rumors of a teardrop-shaped device have been shelved after a Foxconn employee in China revealed that samples so far are symmetrical in thickness. (Foxconn is the company that currently manufactures the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 for Apple.) The same source reveals that neither of the samples have the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S forms, and that neither of the devices seen so far are the final versions. This employee has however failed to indicate any concrete features that are set to appear in this next generation of iPhone.
This article summarizes the various features and specifications that are expected to sport the device.
iPhone 5 Features

Apple announced iOS 5.0 and its features during the WWDC 2011 keynote address on June 6, 2011. The user interface is based on the concept of direct manipulation, using multi-touch gestures. It is expected to come with more than 200 new features that will include improved Notification System, News Stand and iMessage.
iMessage is an application that is developed to compete with Blackberry Messenger. The app will allow iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad users to communicate (much like a chat service) with each other. The iMessage feature has been integrated into the SMS/MMS application used originally on the iPhone models.
iCloud
The iPhone5 is expected to have the iCloud service.
Apple’s iPhone 5 is expected to feature the new iCloud service for wireless remote access of music from all computers and mobile devices.
The iPhone5 will automatically sync with the iCloud which will allow users to store photos, apps, calendars and documents without having them to store in the phone’s memory. Apple is also looking to tie up with top music label companies to license songs for the iCloud service.

However, rumors state that Apple might release a low-cost “iCloud iPhone” alongside the iPhone 5. It could be named the “iPhone Mini”
A5 Processor

iPhone 5 will house the A5 as the main processor, which technically is the same chip that currently powers the iPad 2. The A5 contains a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU with NEON SIMD accelerator and a dual core PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU, which means that the iPhone5 can do twice the work at once. The processor speed will be somewhere between 1.2 to 1.5 GHz, with probably a 1GB RAM.
The processor upgrade is done not just to increase the processing speed of the phone, but also to compete with the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S II.

The A5 chip might effectively increase the power use, however, it is said that the chip has “got a dynamic power management”, which can lower the [speed] depending on the workload, and thus efficiently make use of the power.
iPhone 5 to Sport a Better Camera

The iPhone 4 sports a 5 megapixel camera, so I’m expecting that the iPhone 5 will have a rear-facing 8MP dual-LED flash camera. However, this isn’t really “awesome”, since most of the high-end Android smartphones come with an 8MP camera. Along with that, the iPhone 5 is expected to have a front-facing camera for video chatting.
According to sources, Apple has filed several patent applications relating to 3D picture capturing to the US Patent and Trademark Office later in March. This indicates that the iPhone 5 might feature a 3D camera. The filing indicates that the device will be capable of capturing, processing and rendering 3D images with dual-camera hardware.

Another interesting feature is that the iPhone 5 will be capable of taking pictures in Panorama. It will work similarly to the ’360 Panorama’ application in the App Store. It will let you take pictures in a sequence as you move the camera from one side to another, which in the end will effortlessly stitch the images together to create a panorama.
iTECH Gizmo | Gadget News, Trends And Reviews
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7385537794892829171.post-55422516474333418872012-04-13T08:22:00.001-07:002012-04-13T08:25:01.174-07:00PlayStation Vita Review

With the huge success of PlayStation Portable selling over 71.4 million units worldwide, Sony is all set to release the next version of the PSP called as the PS Vita. The gaming console packs a quad-core graphics processor, which is even impressive than the iPad 2. It looks quite similar to the PSP, however without any doubt the Vita is more impressive and elegantly designed. It sports a 5-inch OLED multi-touch capacitive touchscreen, 24-bit color with a resolution of 960 × 540 qHD and has pixel density of 220 ppi.
Or use the Thunderbolt port to connect the new Apple Thunderbolt Display and transform your ultracompact MacBook Air into a complete desktop workstation. Power over 4 million eye-popping pixels while enjoying some major benefits: Gigabit Ethernet, FireWire 800, an additional Thunderbolt port, three USB ports, a FaceTime HD camera, 2.1 stereo sound, and a built-in microphone. The display even charges your MacBook Air, so there’s no need to unpack and unravel your power adapter. With two quick connections — the MagSafe power cord and the Thunderbolt cable — you’re up and running in seconds. Unplug them, and you’re on your way just as fast.
So the decision to use flash storage in an ultracompact notebook like MacBook Air made perfect sense. With flash, your computer starts up in almost no time and accesses data quickly. Flash also gives MacBook Air the astonishing ability to remain in standby mode for up to 30 days.3 Which means your MacBook Air snaps to in an instant, whether you open it tomorrow, next week, or next month.
And now the keyboard is backlit, so you can type with ease in even the dimmest light. A built-in ambient light sensor detects changes in lighting conditions and adjusts the display and keyboard brightness automatically. From a seat in a sunny café to a seat on a cross-country red-eye, you’ll always have the perfect lighting for any environment.
The Multi-Touch gestures in OS X Lion make everything you do on MacBook Air more intuitive, direct, and fun. And the spacious Multi-Touch trackpad is perfectly designed for them, whether it’s a three-finger swipe to activate Mission Control or a four-finger pinch to see all your apps in Launchpad. Gesture responses in Lion are smooth and realistic. So when you’re scrolling up and down a web page or swiping from one full-screen app to another, it’s almost like you’re touching what you’re seeing.

Connectivity.
You’re free to go.
MacBook Air features 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 technology. Wireless connectivity allows you to browse the web, send email, and print documents no matter where you are.4 MacBook Air weighs almost nothing, so you can go from room to room, dorm to dorm, or cubicle to cubicle and stay connected. Being wireless also means you can download apps from the Mac App Store anytime you want. With thousands of Mac apps available for download with just a few clicks, you don’t have to bother with going to the store to buy software on disc or worry about a growing pile of CDs and DVDs. Apps download instantly right on your Mac. If plugged in is what you want to be, MacBook Air has you covered there, too. Two USB 2.0 ports, an SD card slot (on the 13-inch model), and a headphone port give you plenty of options. And the Thunderbolt port connects to the new Apple Thunderbolt Display and high-speed Thunderbolt peripherals such as external hard drives.
Super light. With zero sacrifice on battery life. The HP Folio13 gives you up to 9.5 hours1, so you can power through your workday without recharging and get everything done with a 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i5 processor and Genuine Windows® 7 Professional 64-bit. Add the TPM security chip to stay secure.
Processor
The Folio 13 has a 2nd Gen Intel Core i5-2467M (1.6GHz), a mid-range low-voltage processor that can run productivity applications and some intensive software. It can burst up to 2.3GHz using Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology if a particularly demanding program is running.

Graphics
It has an integrated graphics solution called Intel HD Graphics 3000. It’s on par with a low-end dedicated graphics card, and is sufficient for modern games at the lowest settings.

RAM
4GB of RAM is enough to run several programs at once smoothly. It’s more than enough to ensure fluid overall system performance with Windows 7 Home Premium.

Storage
It has a small 128GB drive - but the tradeoff, of course, is that it's a solid state drive (instead of a mechanical hard disk like most laptops) so you get rapid boot and application load times, which contribute to the system's excellent performance.

Screen
The Folio 13 has a 13.3in (1,366 x 768 resolution) gloss screen. The viewing angles and colour vibrancy are about average.

Portability
It has exceptional portability, because it weighs 1.5kg and is 18mm thick. It’s more than light enough to be taken anywhere.

Software
In an uncommon move, HP is selling the Folio through both its consumer and business channels, and the software load will vary slightly depending on where you buy it. Our review laptop was one a consumer would have bought, and came stocked with staples such as Skype 5.5, Windows Live Essentials 2011, Evernote, Blio, CyberLink's YouCam camera software and trials of Microsoft Office and Norton Internet Security. The brunt of the pre-installed software comes courtesy of HP, though. This package includes utilities such as Security Assistant, Setup Manager, Support Assistant and Power Manager, along with the aptly named MovieStore. If you nab this through one of the business channels, you'll also get HP Protect Tools, a suite of utilities that cover things like encryption and backup.

As with other laptops it's launched this year, HP included its so-called Launch Box software, which are really just pre-programmed folders that live inside the Start Menu and organize all of the apps HP has helpfully installed for you. Skype, for instance, can be found under "Communication and Chat." You can, if you like, throw your own apps inside those folders -- or, you know, create your own folders, or pin programs or carry on with whatever organizational system you already had in place.

Ultra-long-lasting Battery Life
With zero sacrifice on battery life. The HP Folio13 gives you up to 9.5 hours, so you can power through your workday without recharging.
The new HP Folio13 overcomes the challenge of balancing power and performance, delivering the best output for hours on end. With its 6-cell lithium ion battery, users can clock up to 9.5 hours1 of usage without plugging-in, the highest performance available among Ultrabook ™ devices currently available. It also features Intel Rapid Start technology, that lets users power on and off quickly to help save time and battery life.

The HP Folio13 also comes equipped with a wide array of ports, including Ethernet, RJ-45, HDMI, USB and card-reader, allowing users to enjoy flexibility when connecting to information without having to carry extra dongles. With HP CoolSense technology that automatically adjusts temperature based on usage and condition, users can stay comfortable on-the-go with a noticeably cooler notebook.

The Nokia Lumia 900 is a little piece of modern art. Nokia knows high end design, and the unibody polycarbonate casing available in black, cyan and white, is a sharp study in modern minimalism. The Lumia 900 looks nearly identical to the smaller Nokia Lumia 800 sold overseas and the Nokia N9 (its MeeGo OS twin). The design is perfection on the smaller Lumia 800, and loses just a little appeal and one-handed comfort when stretched to 4.3 inches. The elegant corner taper is a little less gradual and striking, and the curved glass on the 800 is replaced with a 4.3" Gorilla Glass flat panel with a raised edge.
iTECH Gizmo | Gadget News, Trends And Reviews
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7385537794892829171.post-82295140237193235762012-04-07T10:43:00.002-07:002012-04-07T10:48:20.586-07:00Introducing the new HTC EVO 4G LTE

Steps with which you can Extend the Battery Charge:

WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and display brightness all greatly impact battery performance, so lots always important for you to only make use of these services only when you need it the most. Especially when the battery is minimum, you need to turn all these core features so that battery will last more till you find a place to charge up your device.

You can also adopt the bump Charge where in you need to follow the below mentioned steps so as to make the most of your battery charge.

Turn your device ON and Charge the device for 8 hours or more,

Unplug the device and Turn the phone OFF and charge for 1 hour,

Unplug the device Turn ON wait 2 minutes and Turn OFF and charge for another hour Your battery life should almost double, as per the htc executives they have tested themselves and found out the there is a huge improvement in the battery life.

Note: Please note that Official means that a HTC Representative told these steps which are going to double the battery life and this has been tested by many people.
If you follow the above mentioned steps, HTC claims that users have reported a maximum battery life of around 10 hours even in the rigorous usage which includes calling, listening to the music, using data services for most of the time. Please note that this may differ marginally again from user to user.
iTECH Gizmo | Gadget News, Trends And Reviews
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7385537794892829171.post-23851243271156326942012-04-07T04:41:00.000-07:002012-04-07T04:41:45.225-07:00Samsung Galaxy S3 Review

Given that Android manufacturers are all clamouring to boast about who's got the most cores in their devices, it'd make perfect sense for the S3 to be announced as a headline-grabbing quad-core phone.
If not, Samsung has officially revealed its work on the dual-core Exynos 4212, a dual-core ARM9 chipset that's claimed to be 30% more efficient and substantially faster than the unit inside the Galaxy S2. Even that lesser option would still make the S3 a great phone.
Samsung Galaxy S3 is becoming the most talked and rumored phone of 2012, with now a leaked press invite for their London Olympic’s event that revealed the date supposedly for the Galxay S3 launch.
The mobile phone industry is extremely predictable. The high-spec models for the year are invariably announced and shown off at February's Mobile World Congress event, with the finished hardware starting to appear on sale at the end of March and into April.
Samsung managed to release the S2 right at the beginning of April in 2011, so it's bound to want to repeat the winning formula and release the S3 at the same time in 2012. If you're due an upgrade next April, the S3 ought to be ready and waiting for you.
iTECH Gizmo | Gadget News, Trends And Reviews
Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7385537794892829171.post-19027814631815925652012-04-05T22:17:00.001-07:002012-04-05T22:36:32.265-07:00Apple iPhone 4s Review

The iPhone 4S caught many by surprise, with Apple expected to release the iPhone 5 - but instead we got an iPhone 4 with overhauled innards. The iPhone 4S is the best phone you can buy right now. That's been true of every iPhone.
The iPhone 4S comes with a faster processor, a better camera, a smarter virtual assistant and twice the storage of its predecessor -- if you don't mind paying for it. Like the iPhone 3GS did before to the 3G, the 4S bumps the iPhone 4 down to second-class status, leaving those Apple fans who must have the best aspiring to own its decidedly familiar exterior. Apple says this is the most amazing iPhone ever. Is it? Yes, of course it is, but read on to see whether it's really worth an upgrade.
External Design

iPhone 4 legacy: the iPhone 4S looks, and feels, just like an iPhone 4. Although there are minor differences that may make some smartphone cases not compatible (my Belkin transparent case is not compatible for example), both phones feel extremely similar. I don’t think that covering this aspect further will do any good (you like it, or you don’t), except for one aspect: the display size.
Hardware
Familiar is a good term for the exterior of the iPhone 4S. When the 4 was unveiled in the summer of 2010 it was a strikingly different design from anything else on the market -- glass on the front and back, exposed screws holding together a deliciously clean ring of stainless steel. It was kind of chunky and industrial, like a tastefully refinished factory loft -- a big contrast to the smooth and nondescript models that came before. The iPhone 4 was something truly new and, for the days and weeks after its release, just spotting one in the wild caused a sensation. It was so different that people wanted to touch and hold the thing, to see how it felt in the hand.
Few are going to go out of their way to touch and hold the iPhone 4S, but that's not to say it isn't very nice to grasp. The iPhone 4 felt like a finely crafted piece of machinery and there's no doubt this one walks in those very same footsteps. Compared to your average modern Android wunderphone the 4S feels small, dense and heavy, a very different sensation than the occasionally lighter but frequently more plasticky competition. The 4S does actually have slightly more heft than the 4, but only by carefully holding one in each hand can you notice the increase from 137 grams (4.83 ounces) to 140 (4.94 ounces).
Display

For those who aren’t playing with smartphones all the time like we do, you should know that the current trend is going towards larger displays of 4”, 4.3” 4.5” or even 5”. As of now, the iPhone 4S has kept the same 3.5” format than its predecessors, with the same high resolution (960×640) that is still one of the best today. However, 1280×720 pixels displays are scheduled to come out next month, so the sharpness of the the Retina display won’t be so unique anymore.
Resolution aside, the sheer size of the display can be an important factor in the level of comfort of a smartphone. It makes text and virtual keyboard keys bigger and that increases both comfort and productivity, which is why so many iPhone die-hard fans were hoping for a bigger screen. To put it simply, the “one size fits all” design policy of Apple doesn’t quite work anymore. Just like they do with laptops, Apple will eventually have to cater to the needs of their clients who want a larger display.
The A5 dual-core processor

already used in the iPad, the A5 chip finally made it into a phone. It has an excellent graphics processor (GPU) embedded in it and its two processing cores (CPU) should help speed things up, if applications support multi-threading.

The 8MP camera, and low-light sensor

Although good, the iPhone 4 was getting endangered by phones like the Galaxy S2, which could shot images that are much less noisy. It made sense that the iPhone 4S came with a better sensor, optics and software. Its Omnivision’s OV8830 sensor uses BackSide Illumination (BSI), a sensor-building technique that allows more light to reach the sensing elements. Apple has also changed the aperture (how big the hole is) from 2.8 to 2.4 (lower is better), to let more light come in.
The combination of new sensor and A5 processor allows for 1080p video with some form of digital stabilization, which helps alleviate the tiny shakes from your hand.
Software: iOS 5

The iPhone 4S also came with the iOS 5 software update (that you can also get on the iPhone 4, and select older devices). I’ll go over the biggest changes, but keep in mind that older (and cheaper) iPhones also have most of these features, with the notable exception of Siri (more on Siri later).

Web Browsing

The web browsing itself hasn’t changed much, but with iOS 5, it is now possible to save a page to the Reading List for offline reading. Other than that, it’s pretty much the same than what we had on iOS 4.x. Normally, the web browsing experience should be a bit faster, but I couldn’t really tell in real-world usage – probably because the data download remains the main performance roadblock.
While the screen resolution makes everything very sharp, it’s so small that it’s not always readable, at least not comfortably, because letters can be so small.
Virtual Keyboard
the virtual keyboard hasn’t changed one bit. Overall, I really like its responsiveness, but it is very small (due to the screen size), so it is in general not as comfortable to use as larger touch phones.
Battery life

This article explains you about the new features that are to be included in the iPad 3. Update: The New iPad was announced on March 7th 2012… It is not called the iPad 3, it is kown as iPad 2012. We have written a full review about the new ipad 2012 here. In a nutshell, the Apple iPad3 will feature a new, thinner and sleeker design, down nearly 20 percent in size compared to the iPad 2. It will also support full touchscreen HD display with a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536. Apart from that, the iPad 3 will have a lighter battery, reducing the weight of the tablet. However, the battery is reported to cost 20 to 30 percent more than the current iPad’s battery, and will also have a longer battery life. It is also expected that the iPad 3 will have a wireless charging technology, which will be able to charge the battery and transfer data wirelessly.
iPad 3 Features
A6 Processor The current Apple iPad 2 has a 900MHz dual-core ARM Cortext-A9 processor, Apple A5 chipset and PowerVr SGX543MP2 GPU. This certainly made the Apple iPad 2 a powerful tablet and a main competitor in the world of tablets. Now Apple is aiming to make the competition tougher by sporting an A6 Quad-core Processor in the iPad 3. This would make the iPad 3 as powerful as any high-end desktop. According to Linley Group senior analyst Kevin Krewell, “We expect the A6 will be a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 design, which would be competitive with next year’s best mobile processors. In 2012, Nvidia will offer a quad-core Cortex-A9 processor, and Qualcomm will have the aforementioned MSM8960, a dual-core A15-class processor operating at 1.7GHz. Fabricating Apple’s A6 in 28nm (instead of the 40nm process Nvidia is using for its quad-core part) will reduce both die cost and power, yielding a much better product.”
iOS 5 The iPad 3 will come with the latest iOS 5, which will host the multi-touch gesture technology. However, analyst and tech enthusiasts predict that Apple would introduce OS X Lion for the tablet, since it will be powered by a quad-core processor. This will also include multitasking features, such as notifications, task-finishing, app-switching, location and background sound.

3D Feature and New Retina Display Apple enthusiast expected the Retina Display feature on Apple iPad 2; however, Apple has been working majorly for an improved version of it to include it in the iPad 3. The iPhone 4 currently supports the Retina Display with a screen resolution of 960 x 640. Apple explains Retina Display as: “Developing pixels a mere 78 micrometers wide, Apple engineers were able to pack four times the number of pixels into the same 3.5-inch (diagonal) screen found on earlier iPhone models. The resulting pixel density of iPhone 4 – 326 pixels per inch – makes text and graphics look smooth and continuous at any size.”
With the Retina Display feature, the screen resolution of the iPad3 will be 2048 x 1536 pixels. However, it is said that the third version of the tablet is delayed due to Retina Display issues, and Apple is expected to ship the tablet in early 2012.
There are speculations that the tablet will display the 3D view. Although it’s too early to expect features like 3D display, devices like the LG Optimus can record videos in 3D, and output the same through HDMI.
Cloud Computing
Apple announced its Cloud services during the WWDC 2011, and will definitely include the iCloud technology both in the iPhone 5 and iPad 3. With iCloud users can store photos, apps, calendars and access songs on iTunes without having them to store in the phone’s memory.
Camera
The iPad 3 will come with an improved camera, since the previous version of the table didn’t seem impressive enough. Unlike the iPad 2, the new tablet will come with LED flash to support the camera. It is expected to have a 5MP camera with 1080p or 720p video recording quality of 60 frames per second. The technology made by OmniVision will help reduce the size of the table by 20 percent.
Fingerprint Proof
Apple has already been granted patents on this technology, and is working real hard to make the iPad3 fingerprint proof. The touch screen will be coated with oleophobic materials, which will reduce the oil and fingerprints on the screen.
iTECH Gizmo | Gadget News, Trends And Reviews
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com
